Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, said that it is not possible for anyone to politically finish off their family. "The people will teach a befitting lesson to those who even make an attempt in this connection," without taking the name of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking at the party workers meeting, here, on Wednesday night, he said, "It was me, who had identified Siddaramaiah in the year 1995 and helped him in his political growth. He went on to become the chief minister. But Siddaramaiah has forgotten the favour. He is speaking of seeing the political end of Deve Gowda and sons, out of arrogance."

Gowda said, " There are 65 crore minority community people, including Muslims and Christians in the country. The BJP, which has ruined the governance of the country, has ignored their welfare. The BJP is responsible for the rise of communal riots in the coastal areas."

Cauvery issue

Commenting on the Cauvery River water-sharing issue, Gowda said, "It is not possible for the national parties, either the Congress or the BJP to solve the issue. The solution could be found only if the regional party JD(S) comes to power."

The people of the state are fed up of the national parties. There is a JD(S) wave across the state, including North Karnataka. They will add strength to the party, he said.

BSP district president Athni Harish said, "With the JD(S)-BSP entering into an alliance, the BSP workers will strive for the victory of the JD(S). The people will teach a lesson to the Congress party."
