Former MLC Monappa Bhandary said that the BJP in Dakshina Kannada district is all set to campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Briefing reporters here on Friday, he said there is no dissidence within the party in Dakshina Kannada. The party workers will work towards the victory of the candidates announced by the BJP national president. BJP National president Amit Shah said that only candidates who are capable of winning the election will be fielded, he said.

A survey of the winning candidates in Dakshina Kannada has already been conducted and the list of candidates is likely to be announced within a day or two, Bhandary said.

He said that booth-level committees have been constituted and meetings were also held. In addition, Navashakthi Kendra convention was also organised by the BJP. Shah himself interacted with the party workers during Navashakthi Samavesha held last month. Further, Mahila Morcha members have held conventions in all the 53 Shakthi Kendras in the district.

The Mahila Morcha members have also been visiting voters seeking votes for the BJP since April 6. The door-to-door campaign by women members will conclude on April 14.

The Mahila Morcha members have been highlighting the welfare programmes of the NDA government at the Centre and all those welfare programmes that were initiated by the previous BJP government in Karnataka.

It will also highlight the failure of the Congress-led government in Karnataka as well.

Stating that the BJP candidates are not announced through social media, he said that the national president will himself announce the candidates. Those who create unnecessary hype by projecting themselves as party candidates will be dealt with sternly by the BJP, he said.

Further, he said, "The Congress is in an unorganised state. The BJP is fully organised in its plan to win 150 seats in the upcoming Assembly election. Chargesheets against District In-charge Minister Ramanath Rai and Minister U T Khader will be reached out to every household in the district through Yuva Morcha members."

In reply to a query on too many ticket aspirants in BJP, he said, "There is nothing wrong with seeking a ticket. Once the candidates are announced, all will work for the victory of BJP's candidate by defeating the Congress."

On expelled BJP leader Srikar Prabhu contesting the election, he said that it will not have any impact on the party.
