Ambareesh to re-contest from Mandya

Putting an end to the speculations over his candidature, MLA Ambareesh said that he would contest from Mandya constituency on Congress ticket in the coming Assembly election.

He has communicated the decision to Congress in-charge general secretary of the state K C Venugopal. Mandya DCC president C D Gangadhar said, "As Ambarish was maintaining silence over his stand, a section of leaders and the workers in the party had created a lot of confusion. There were rumours that his wife Sumalatha would contest from Mandya," he said.

According to party sources, Ambareesh had expressed his displeasure over Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to Venugopal. He has complained against the unilateral decisions taken by the CM on inducting JD(S) MLAs N Chaluvarayaswamy and Ramesh Bandisiddegowda into the party.
