The District Sessions Court today posted the matter for Tuesday when the plea came up.
The alleged victim and her husband have lodged an FIR, claiming Halappa had raped her and later threatened them with dire consequences if they spoke about it.

Police have, meanwhile, pasted written notices at the BJP leader's two residences-- one in Haratal village in Hosanagar district and another in Holekoppa village in Sorab taluk-- asking him to appear before CID before May 10.

The CID, which is probing the matter, visited the residence of the alleged victim today and questioned her and her husband, a financier. CID sources said they were unable to question Halappa and record his statement as his wherebabouts were not known.

Police have slapped charges of rape, wrongful confinement and intimidation against Halappa, who has denied them. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had on May 3 announced a CID probe after Halappa resigned on May 2 following a media report on the alleged incident in November 2009.
