Farhan-Hari (15) combine came into its own after the half-time when the scores was tied at 13-13. Rovers, who are one of the better teams in the tournament, rode on efforts from Melware (10) and Veeresh (10) but it was not enough to deny Ulsoor a handsome win in the end.
In another match, Kanaka, Kolar proved their strength with a 37-14 win over Durgans, Chitradurga. Rajath top scored for Kanaka with 15 points while Raghavendra’s seven-point effort was never going to be enough to keep Durgans in contention.
Sports Authority of India registered a convincing 36-20 win over YFBC, Kolar to advance to the next stage of the competition.
In the girls’ category, Bharath Sports Union pulled off a comfortable 22-6 win over Mangalore Basketball Club.
Sanjana (12) and Tansia (5) scored for Bharath and Anupama scored all the six points Mangalore managed to put on the board.
