Addressing a press conference here, Singh said that film star Sanjay Dutt and former SP MP Jaya Prada would also join him in the agitation, which would begin from December 1.
The former SP leader said that the eastern districts lagged behind in development and only the creation of Poorvanchal would guarantee speedy development of the region.

When asked about actor Amitabh Bachchan, Singh said that the film star was not interested in politics. “Neither Amitabh was interested in joining my outfit nor was I interested in him,” he said.

On differences with film actress-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan, Singh said that she was just like a family to him but added that as she has made her political plans clear he did not want to question her choice.Singh, who has formed Lok Manch, an apolitical forum, said it would be converted into a political outfit at the appropriate time. He announced the names of Lok Manch office-bearers on Monday.A large number of former SP leaders, including its three suspended MLAs, were present with Singh at the press conference.

Nothing wrong in offering ‘jhappi’: Dutt
Despite facing a string of court cases for offering “jadu ki jhappi” (magical hug) to UP Chief Minister Mayawati, film star and former SP general secretary Sanjay Dutt on Monday said he finds nothing wrong with his remarks.

“I did not do anything wrong by offering ‘jhappi’ to Mayawati,” Dutt said while addressing a press conference here along with expelled SP leader Amar Singh.Stating that “jhappi” indicated respect, the actor said it was not an offensive word. He said he was not scared of the court cases slapped on him for his remarks on Mayawati made during campaigning in the last year’s Lok Sabha elections. He claimed that he was yet to receive any summons.
