Ulsoor SU registered a 43-31 win over Kanaka, Kolar in their quarterfinal match here at the Sree Kanteerava stadium. VBC from Mandya, Mangalore Sports Club and VNS also booked their places in the last four.
Point guard Farhan, who has been in good touch right through the tournament, played his part well, scoring 15 points, and Sudhindra assisted him with a ten-point effort. Kanaka were never in contention as Ulsoor took a 30-17 lead at half-time and Santhosh’s 12-point effort could not help them turn the tide.
In the girls’ category, defending champions Sports Hostel edged past Ulsoor Sports Union 32-30 while Beagles enjoyed a comfortable 41-33 win over Vimanapura Sports Club en route to the semifinals. Also winning through were Mounts Club, who trounced N Shetty 51-29.
