Protesters seek action against teacher

The protesters demanded an inquiry into the alleged irregularities indulged in by  Sonnappa at schools he served in. They alleged that he misappropriated funds released under SSA for construction of rooms in schools.

Student exploited

The protesters also alleged that Sonnappa had “exploited a girl student” and demanded that the family of the student be compensated. The agitators claimed that Sonnappa was trying to hush up the issue by “blackmailing” senior officers.

Members of State Primary School Teachers’ Association, State SCST Government Employees’ Association, Savita Samaj and dalit organisations led the protest.

Prahalad Gowda, DDPI rushed to the spot and accepted a memorandum from the agitators. He promised to look into the matter and taken suitable action.

Jagadeesh, Rajkumar, Ramachandraiah, B N Narayanaswamy, Shankar, K G Narayanaswamy, Munichoudappa, Krisnhappa, Gollahalli Venkatesh, Srinivas, Nataraj, Raghupati and others were present.
