Villagers take police to task

The deceased, Govindappa (42), was on his way to Chikmagalur from Belur in his two-wheeler while the KSRTC bus was bound to Javagal from Chikmagalur.

The bus driver fled the spot soon after the mishap. The pillion rider too has suffered injuries.
Though the police were informed, they took more than one hour to arrive at the spot.
Infuriated over the delay in the arrival of the cops, the villagers took the police to task. Food and Civil Supplies Department Assistant Director Gurumurthy also visited the spot.
