Realtor killed in road accident

Succumbs to grievous injuries after a tempo hit his car on his way home

Beeranna, resident of Bidarahalli Hobli, was on his way home from Outer Ring Road when a speeding tempo collided with his vehicle head-on near Geddalahalli bus stop around 11.30 pm.  A grievously injured Beeranna was taken to the Columbia Asia Hospital by his friend, police added.

Tempo driver Mohammad Qadar (36), a resident of Pillanna Garden has been arrested. Banaswadi traffic police have booked a case of causing death due to negligence under Section 304 (A) of the IPC against Qadar. 

Electrocuted

An electrician was electrocuted as he accidentally came in contact with a live wire at an under construction building in Mathikere on Wednesday.

Laxmipathy (24) of Kodegenahalli died on the way to M S Ramaiah Hospital. Police said there was a major short circuit when Laxmipathy was trying to unplug a live wire connected to the meter board and that led to the accident.

Girl found hanging

A 21-year-old girl was found hanging at her Mohan Kumar Nagar residence on Wednesday. Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was suffering from stomach ailments and dejected with her constant health problems.

Techie assaulted

A software engineer was assaulted with a machete by an unknown person at his house in Bhoopasandra on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred when Bhaskhar (24), a resident of NTA Layout, woke up to the knocking on the door around 6 am. When he opened the door, a stranger who was at the door suddenly hit him on the head and hands and fled.

A shocked Bhaskar collapsed. He was taken to the M S Ramaiah Medical College and Hospital where his condition is said to be stable, police said.

Bhaskar is married and lives with his wife. According to police, he was yet to recognise the assailant. Sanjaynagar police have registered a case of attempted murder under Section 307 of the IPC.

Found dead

A 32-year-old daily wage labourer was found dead on the main road in front of Ullas Theatre during the wee hours of Thursday. Chikahanumaiah had left home due to domestic discord.

The native of Bislahalli in Tumkur district was in the habit of consuming alcohol.
The police feel Chikahanumaiah might have consumed poison with alcohol. He was married and has a teenage daughter.

Stoned to death

An unknown man in his mid-30s was found stoned to death in Vijayanagar here on Wednesday night, police said. Passersby who found the body of a man with his head crushed with a stone near Gandhi Park, informed the police.

Police suspect the murder to be the fall-out of a drunken brawl. Vijayanagar police have booked a case of murder. The body has been kept at the Victoria Hospital.
