Addressing a review meeting of Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department pre-matric and post-matric students’ private aided hostels here on Sunday, he said, students should be served feast on the occasion of festivals as per their customs.
As part of the initiative to inculcate communal harmony among the students, the minister also directed the wardens to display the photos regarding different religions in the hostels and not to put up photos of any one particular religion.
He also asked the officials to ensure drinking water and toilet facilities in the hostels. He promised to discuss with the minister concerned on additional hostels in the district.
