* Diet mantra: It all boils down to conditioning the palate to enjoy only that which is healthy. I stay off fatty foods and include plenty of vegetables, fruits and raagi in my diet. I try and have several small meals, no sugary or fried items, and lots of water.

* Relishing dishes: Few cuisines taste better to me than the food found in Karnataka’s small town Khaanavalis. My favourite dish is raagi muddhe. I prefer to eat it with lentils or naati chicken gravy.

* Exercise regime: My daily exercise regime takes me about one-and-a-half to two hours. More than the amount of time spent on each exercise, I try to focus on building stamina, rotating muscle groups, and maintaining intensity.

* Gadget freak: I am not very technologically inclined. I do, however, use three gadgets on a daily basis — more out of necessity than proclivity or style. My desk-top computer, cellphone, and tread mill comes in handy when I need run indoors due to traffic.

* In my free time: I enjoy reading. Everything from newspapers and magazines to novels and poetry captures my attention. Watching films, plays, and attending music concerts are just some of the other activities that I find revitalising.

* Weekend rules: On weekends, my friends generally have more free time to join me. I do enjoy travelling all over the City (often by foot) on Sundays.

* Style statement: Few things make an individual more stylish than not trying to be stylish. My style statement is to not really try, care, or try to care.

* Vacation spots: I head straight to the United States and specifically Chicago, where I was born. Whenever I get a chance to return for a couple of weeks once a year or so, I make it a point to spend time with my parents, brother and friends.

* Books to browse:  Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, Imaginary Homelands by Salman Rushdie, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez  and the The Argumentative Indian by Amartya Sen... to mention a few.

* Movies to watch: The Godfather – a 1972 Francis Ford Coppola film, The Sting – a George Roy Hill film,  Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu — a Siddalingaiah film and Rang De Basanti by Rakesh Mehra.

* Ardent fan of... : Rajkumar and Anant Nag, Marlon Brando, Johnny Depp, Aamir Khan and Suriya in Tamil. Among actresses Lakshmi and Bharathi in Kannada, Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das in Bollywood.

* Soothing music: Temptations, a band from Detroit, USA, Abhijeet Pohankar (Hindustani music) and Junoon (Pakistani band).
