Chinappa celebrates Saarbrucken success

The second seed from Chennai, Chinappa dismissed the unexpected finalist Swiss number one Schmohl 11-6 11-7 11-6 in just 22 minutes last night to earn the fourth WISPA Tour title of her career.

In the semifinal, she had defeated French qualifier Melissa Alves 11-5 11-5 11-6 in 16 minutes, while she routed the challenge of eighth seeded England's Carrie Ramsey 11-3 11-8 11-3 in 18 minutes in the quarterfinal.In the first round of the main draw, she had earned a hard fought victory over Czech qualifier Veronika Koukalova 11-6 11-7 14-12 in 21 minutes.
