Impressive Atwal finishes at tied seventh place

The Orlando-based Indian signed off with a total of six-under 274 here.The other Indian in fray, Jeev Milkha Singh finished tied 32nd with a total of one-under 279 after returning a two-over 72 in the final round that comprised just one birdie against three bogeys. On a mixed day, Atwal found three birdies and an equal number of bogeys. The birdies came on the fourth, seventh and 12th holes, while he dropped shots on the third ninth and 15th.
But the effort was good enough to secure Atwal his best finish so far this season. Australian Jason Day clinched the trophy by two strokes.

Day returned his first over-par card of the week, a two-over 72, but still ended with a two-stroke lead over the rest. The Australian’s four-day total stood at 10-under 270.

Chowrasia tied 34th
Indian golfer SSP Chowrasia rose five rungs to sign off tied 34th after carding an even-par 71 in the fourth and final round of the European Tour’s BMW PGA Championships, adds PTI from Wentworth, England.

The Kolkata-pro ended the tournament with a total of three-over 287 and took home euro 31,950 for his effort. Chowrasia was not off to the best of starts as he stumbled to a bogey on the very first hole but quickly made up for it with a birdie on the second. He struck an eagle on the par-five fourth hole but made the turn one-under after dropping a bogey on the sixth. On his way back, Chowrasia found a bogey on the 11th hole for the fourth successive day and parred the rest.England’s Simon Khan (66) won the title with a total of six-under 278.
