Prancing around the Palace

Being Shivarajkumar’s 99th film, the actor was seen in a flimsy prisoner’s outfit wearing a tired expression on his face which he blamed on the heat. While his co-star Sada too was seen complaining that she looked rather dull for a day shoot. But that didn’t stop the duo. Once the camera got rolling, they got into character and gave their very best.

The sequence of the day, explained Chandru, the director, was of a rowdy getting a state award for his contributions to the field of rowdyism. Though the scene was being shot in front of the Palace, Chandru said not much of the Palace will be shown in the clipping. Still maintaining the same enthusiasm as day one of the shoot, Chandru was on his toes explaining exactly what he wanted from his actors. “That’s what’s really nice about Chandru — he knows what he wants and he gets it. There have been instances when we have actually tried to imitate some of his expressions,” said Shivanna.

Sada too had only good things to say about Chandru and co-star Shivarajkumar. “One thing I really enjoyed about the shoot is the amount of enthusiasm on the sets. I am getting to learn so much from Shivanna. He is there for all of us throughout the shoot.
Even when he is not needed on the sets, he is there and is ready to help anyone who needs it. Chandru is one of the youngest directors I have worked with and the amount of talent he has for his age is simply wonderful,” she said.

While Shivanna will be seen in three different avatars, Sada is very comfortable in her village belle attire. “I have not played this role ever since my debut and people really liked me in this kind of a character, so I am looking forward to this,” she added.

Mailari captures the clash between the ambitions of parents and the passions of children. It also speaks of how the path we choose to tread upon greatly depends on family, friends and societal values. The dubbing will be completed by June, the crew is confident of releasing the film by September.
