Bharathi Urs released

A Fast Track Sessions Court acquitted Urs, daughter of former Chief Minister Devaraj Urs and two others in connection with a high profile case on May 27. Urs was arrested by the High Grounds police in connection with the murder of Chitralekha, daughter of former High Court judge M P Chandrakanth Raje Urs, in 2004.

She was not released as a court had issued warrant against her in a cheque bounce case. She obtained the bail in the cheque bounce case. Hence, she was released, said the Parappana Agrahara police.

Student hangs self
An engineering student, Ashish Kumar Singh (25),  of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging in his room in Prashant Layout on Friday.
According to police, Singh was pursuing Computer Science engineering at the MVJ College of Engineering. Distraught over his failure in a subject, he took this extreme step, the police said. Whitefield police have registered a case.
