Acting on a tip-off, Haliyal police arrested Shankara Vasudeva Depi, Manjunatha Shankara Depi and Chandrakanta Nagendra Redekara, who had grown more than 350 ganja plants in their three-acre land. Narcotic worth Rs two lakh has been seized from the arrested, police said.
In another incident, a police team seized 46 kg of ganja, valued at Rs three lakh by intercepting a four-wheeler on Kakola Road in Byadagi taluk. Police said the vehicle was heading towards Shimoga with the psychotropic substance. The driver of the vehicle, Hanumantha Mahadevappa Bajjanavara, has been arrested. Byadagi police have registered a case.
