As part of the service, the organisation provides:

* Curriculum books, which are designed to fit into the school’s existing timetable and infrastructure, and contain lesson plans and timetables.

* Props that are age-appropriate and designed to match the activities prescribed, and are designed to be stored and used in limited spaces.

* Teacher-Parent workshops to help teachers and parents understand the concept and help their children.

* Fitness measurement reports at the beginning and end of the year, including results of several tests meant to check how fit the child is, and how he/she has improved during the year.

The programme costs approximately Rs 100 a child a month, and can be adapted to work within space constraints.

A for Adventure

Youreka organises 3-5 day adventure-based learning programmes for students from Classes 4 to 12. The students will have to undertake a series of individual and group tasks, as well as outdoor activities. The organisation also conducts special summer programmes like The White Star Experience.

The White Star Experience: A week-long programme designed for children aged from 9 to 16; children are organised into small groups based on their age, and perform age-appropriate adventure tasks. The programme focuses on teaching children life-skills, widening their perspectives and discover themselves.

The younger children participate in activities like rock climbing, riverside back-packing, wilderness back-packing and bushcraft; the older children can also participate in mountain biking, watercraft activities and learn how to survive outdoors. Inme organises week-long adventure programmes for 9-17 year olds.

Participants can choose from a variety of activities like rock-climbing, mountain biking, rifle shooting or rope craft, where they learn skills relevant to their level. They are also introduced to magic, kite-flying, movie making, theatre and music. There are also awareness sessions: village visits, environmental walks, weather watch and first aid.
