JOIN US A school boy drowned and died in Musurehalla near Chowki on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as B Subramanya (11), son of Appu Mulya, a resident of Kondugolli. Subramanya is the student of VI standard at Chowki Government Higher Primary School, which is about 1.5 kms from his house. On Thursday morning, he had left for school along with his sisters Shilpa and Deepika.
On the way he went to Musurehalla near Kamandala Estate to answer nature’s call. He climbed on a rock for the same. The rock had turned slippery due to the rains and Subramanya fell off the rock into the water. The pond, which is about 6 feet deep is said to be filled with silt for over 3 feet. As Subramanya fell upside down, his head got struck in the silt making him unable to cry for help. When the local residents heard the cry of school children near the pond, it was too late as Subramanya had breathed his last.
