Speaking after inaugurating a programme for the distribution of computerised permanent ration cards at Karje primary school in Udupi assembly constituency on Wednesday, he said “there was delay in the distribution of ration cards. We are trying to set right the mistakes in the ration card. More than one lakh APL and BPL cards are being distributed in Udupi district.”
As many 18,000 BPL card applications have been received at Nemmadi kendras. Of which, 11,000 have been given preference and 7,000 applications have been rejected, he added.
Karje GP President Balakrishna Shetty presided. Udupi taluk Tahsildar Prasanna, TP EO Ramananda Nayak, Food and Civil Supplies Deputy Director Vijaya Kumar Shenoy and others were present.
