The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is releasing on July 16 in India. It will be released in four languages — English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protege. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It will take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes the sorcerer’s apprentice.

Says director Jon Turtletaub, “The idea is that sorcerers and the ancient art of sorcery are alive in present-day New York City. It’s much more entertaining to show audiences the magic in things they recognise than to create something.

New York City is an extraordinary place and New Yorkers are so busy achieving, they often don’t actually notice what is here. If you stop and look around, there are amazing things everywhere. If you walk through Manhattan one day, and instead of looking straight ahead you look up instead, you will see the most amazing architectural details on those buildings. New York is an entire universe.”
