'Sahaaya' helpline to be opened today

Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, Karnataka Christian Education Society Secretary Dr H R Cabral said the helpline will be a platform for different institutions, organisations and communities to come together through mutual trust and respect and join hands in building communities of peace.

The major objectives of the helpline are to affirm human rights, support efforts to combat poverty and economic injustice, enhance human dignity. It will also provide career and educational guidance for the youth in order to equip and prepare them for different professional and educational competitive examination. It will serve the senior citizens, sick and the needy by providing human resources for geriatric care, palliative care. Sahaaya will provide counselling to family, marital, students, children in distress, de-addiction and HIV/Aids.

Karnataka Christian Educational Society will be celebrating KACES Day on July 6. On this auspicious occasion, Rev Dr C L Furtado will inaugurate the office premises of Sahaaya. Trustee of Athena Hospital Sarojini Jathanna will inaugurate the renovated KACES hostel kitchen. KTC  Principal will preside over the function.
