Heavy rains continue to lash DK, Udupi

Heavy rains would occur at isolated places over coastal Karnataka during the next 48 hours.
According to a release issued by materological department, strong onshore winds from northwesterly to westerly direction are expected where the speed would occasionally reach 45 to 55 kmph along the Karnataka coast during the next 24 hours. Hence, fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea for fishing, the release states.

In the last 24 hours, Bantwal received the highest rainfall of 58 mm followed by Mangalore 45.6 mm, Sullia—35.4 mm, Puttur—34.6 mm and Belthangady 20.2 mm.  Udupi district recorded a rainfall of 69.73 mm in the last 24 hours on Wednesday. Udupi taluk received 86.20 mm, Karkala 38.20 mm and Kundapur recorded 84.80 mm rainfall.
