Udupi DC issues notification on paid parking system

In fact, the CMC Commissioner had submitted a proposal on the need for paid parking system with the increase in the number of vehicles in the city on May 24.

The proposal had stated zeebra crossing in some roads, speed limits, no horn board in some areas. The proposal had requested for one way traffic from Sadananda towers to Vishnu flower stall on state highway 65. After collecting details from SP, and RTO, the notification has been passed.

Paid parking

From Hanuman Circle to Diana Circle on Kavi Muddanna road, 25 vehicles can be parked on the left hand side of Hanuman Circle to Government Maternity Hospital. From right hand side of Super Bazar Building to Church gate, 25 light vehicles can be parked.

Around 50 two-wheelers can be parked from left side of Taluk Panchayat office to Jodukatte. About five light vehicles can be parked near ICICI Bank in front of taluk office.
About 20 two-wheelers can be parked on the road side between Pai Electronics and Court by lane road. About 25 two-wheelers can be parked in front of Vishweshwaraiah market.

About 5 light vehicles and 25 two-wheelers can be parked on bylane road to Adarsha Hospital from Hanuman Circle. Five light vehicles and 25 two-wheelers can be parked in the empty space belonging to City Municipal Council  near R K Textiles near City Bus Stand. Five light vehicles and 25 two-wheelers can be parked near fish market in Udupi.

Free parking

Five light vehicles and 20 two-wheelers can be parked in front of KSRTC bus stop complex. About 5 light vehicles and 20 two-wheelers—in front of Maithri Complex; six light vehicles near Adishakthi flower shop to Vishnu flower shop in front of DDPI office, 20 two-wheelers—near State Bank of India; 40 two-wheelers from Super Bazar to Souza Electronics on K M Road, 15 light vehicles from Vijaya Bank to Vasantha Bakery on K M Road, 30 two-wheelers from Sai Palace to Vijaya Bank can be parked. Around 10 cars can be parked from Sanskrit College junction to Chittaranjan Circle, 40 cars can be parked from Saraswatha Bank to Jodukatte.

One-way traffic

One way traffic has been introduced in some of the roads with speed limit for the vehicles. The speed limit from Welcome arch to Jodukatte is 50 km per hour, Jodukatte to Lions Circle—40 km per hour, Lions Circle to Shiribeedu Junction—30 km per hour, Karavali Junction to Indrali—50 km per hour.

The speed limit in other road is 30 km per hour, the notification informed.
