Soldier from State to join Congo mission

Fondly called as Madhu, he is the only soldier to have been selected from the State.
He joined the Army in 2004 and has been serving in Madras 17 Battalion. In the past six years he has served in Punjab, Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi and other places in the nation.
Shivalingaiah, apart from being adorned with several gold medals has also been feted with Ashok Chakra in recognition of his courageous action.
