The Cabinet also gave clearance to increase the number of members in each of the committee from seven to 11.
Necessary amendments to Karnataka State Municipal and Corporations Act 1976 to effect the changes will be tabled before the two Houses of Legislature on Friday. The Palike has eight standing committees for health, town planning, education, works, appeal, taxation and finance, horticulture and marketing and recruitment.
