The deal is expected to close by the end of July. Ocarina is privately held and was founded in 2007. The company supplies technology that helps reduce storage space requirements and the amount of redundant data.
Dell said it plans to invest in additional engineering and sales capability at Ocarina, and has no plans to move the operation.
