The delegation led by former KPCC president Allum Veerabhadrappa told the Governor that they had never indulged in illegal mining and were ready to face any probe including a CBI inquiry to prove their innocence.

Besides Veerabhadrappa, the delegation included Rajya Sabha MP Anil Lad, Legislator Santhosh Lad, KPCC General Secretary Abdul Wahab - all of whom were accused by Janardhana Reddy.

Reddy had said he was making the observation based on a Lokayukta report on illegal mining submitted to the Government in 2008.

Speaking to reporters, Santhosh Lad and Veerabhadrappa said there were some errors in the satellite imageries based on which the Lokayukta had wrongly inferred that they had taken up mining beyond their licence permits. “We have questioned the inference before courts and presented our version. No mining is being undertaken in disputed area,” they said.
