A Children's Theatre Festival will be presented by Indian Stage, in association with Khilona, on July 25 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

The event will begin at 11 am. The three plays to be staged are the Golden Fish, The Rabbit King, and the Clown’s Cry for the Moon.

Khilona is a company of adult professionals performing exclusively for children and the young, including teachers and parents. Whether working with professional artistes, children, the young or the teachers, they strive for a professional approach in their plays by getting the best of designers, dancers, writers, musicians, craftsmen and other experts.

They create original plays and perform in front of children and adults as audiences with a lot of audience interaction.

Khilona’s team of professional, semi-professional, amateur artistes has created 18  plays for children and done over 3,500 shows in 600 schools of 24 different towns of India.

They also work with children through theatre workshops and has conducted a number of theatre workshops with teachers of important institutions. Founder Director of Khilona, V K Sharma’ is exclusively devoted to theatre with and for children for the last 18 years.

He is a graduate from National School of Drama (NSD) with over 30 years of experience in various aspects of theatre like writing, directing, translating, designing, etc.

A production-oriented theatre workshop helps children in many ways. It gives them a positive outlet for their physical, mental and emotional energies, it develops clarity of speech and develops communication skills.

It can increase their self-confidence and help them overcome stage-fright and improves their concentration.

Such workshops give children an opportunity to create individually and collectively.
The tickets to the event in Bangalore are available online on www.indianstage.in  or call 9880036611.
