Taliban: One missing sailor dead, other captured

 
In a telephone interview on Sunday with The Associated Press, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said the pair drove into an area of Logar province that is under insurgent control. He says that during a brief gunfight, one American was killed and the other was captured.

Mullen on Sunday in Kabul predicted rising levels of violence in the coming months but reaffirmed the coalition's commitment to reducing civilian casualties.

He says that in the past two weeks, the Taliban had murdered more than 45 people nationwide.
