JOIN USYouth Congress workers under the leadership of Krishna Byregowda raised slogans hinting at lewd relationship between the chief minister and a lady MLA in the ruling party.
The youth brigade passed similar remarks against Excise Minister M P Renukacharya against whom Jayalakshmi, a nurse, had made sexual harassment charges. They also referred to the recent sex scam which forced H Halappa to resign as minister.
Former union minister C M Ibrahim was no different in his speech. Commenting on vegetarian food culture of a few ministers in the Yeddyurappa cabinet, Ibrahim wondered how much corrupt they would have become had they developed the habit of taking non-vegetarian food.
Ibrahim said the Congress had the tradition of leaders sacrificing their lives for the nation’s cause. But none of the BJP leaders had sacrificed their lives for the nation so far. A few of them died of the diseases they had, while some were killed by their relatives, he added.
