Ganapathi Naik, a resident of Belekeri village, had filed a petition challenging the grant of 15 acres out of 34-acre government land to J M Bakshi and Company on the Chief Minister’s directions. The HC had granted a stay on the grant after Ganapathi Naik contended that the 34-acre land was earmarked for a truck terminal after the residents complained that lorries laden with iron ore were being parked on the highway, blocking the access to the port.
