Applications invited

August 31 is the last date to submit the scholarship application forms along with the saving bank account details.

Banks are not agreeing to open accounts for these students and are making an excuse that there are shortage of account opening forms. Due to the banks’ non co-operation, there are chances that the students may be deprived from their scholarship.

In DK district itself, there are 60,000 students anticipating scholarship worth Rs 15 crore, said South Canara Beedi Workers Federation Secretary Sukumar in press release. The federation has urged banks to co-operate with the beedi workers and hence facilitate them to open a saving bank account.
