A demand for royalty

Chunky Panday and Salman Khan have been friends for decades. Not many know that they went to the same school, just a couple of years apart and grew up around Bandra, close to each other.

Salman’s latest home production Dabangg reveals that the name of the main character is ‘Chulbul Pandey’ and ever since Chunky found out about this, he has been demanding royalty for the usage of his initials CP and the usage of his surname ‘Panday’, creating many a laugh between the two friends.

Last heard, Salman had tweeted a picture of him and Chunky, calling it ‘Chunky and Chulbul Pandey’ and the picture shows the real and reel life Panday boys holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes.

Will Chunky be able to recover the royalty he is demanding? Your guess is as good as ours!

Lata-Jasraj duet in Marathi

Legends: Pandit Jasraj and Lata Mangeshkar. For the first time, two legends from different genres — Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar and Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj, will come together to sing a Marathi song. The song is for a spiritual film titled Aai Tuza Ashirwaad (meaning blessings of mother), which has been directed by Madhura Jasraj, wife of Pandit Jasraj. Madhura, incidentally, is the daughter of legendary Marathi film director V Shantaram. The song, Om Namo Sukhdayini, is an aarti that was recorded recently.

Emerging creative differences

All isn’t working out well like a dream between debutant director Mayur Puri and dreamgirl Hema Malini. Mayur is working on Tell Me Oh Khuda with Hema, who is producing the film. Hema is also trying hard to re-launch her daughter Esha Deol after a long time through this film. While director Mayur Puri remained unavailable for comment, Hema admitted, “Yes, there are some creative differences.” When asked to elaborate, she said, “I think this is enough from my side.”

The new ‘papa’

Anil Kapoor has found himself a new papa. Before you start getting ideas, it’s none other than Siddharth Kannan. Recently, Anil did a studio interview with Sid for his show. So when Sid asked him the secret behind how he is looking younger by the day and that soon he might start looking younger than the host himself. Anil said he has had five plastic surgeries and has had his nose rectified a couple of times. He suddenly started calling Sid — “papa Sid”, to which Sid replied, “I always wanted a son like you — beta Anil.”

Anil’s daughter Rhea and music composer Amit Trivedi went berserk laughing at the ‘father-son’ duo having a blast with each other, and the icing on the cake was Anil asking Sid for his aashirwad, for which Sid was more than happy to oblige.

When asked about his experiences with Anil Kapoor, Sid said, “His humility touches your heart and his sense of humour can teach a thing or two to the best of comedians.”

Here's hoping that this bonding between the naughty papa-beta jodi keeps growing.
