Keeping this in mind, Nachiket Barve’s latest collection has come up with something original and wearable for women everywhere.

In the collection, the garments become lighter as linings are eliminated or replaced with individual pieces and separates are layered together to create looks where fabric become contemporary, fresh and easily adaptable into modern, chic wearable garments.

It is a look, which, is intellectual yet effortless, where disparate strong elements are linked together to create a stylish range for the modern eclectic woman.

“I have used a lot of chiffon, georgette and a lot of other textures like organza and shade dyeing,” says the designer.

Nachiket, who had earlier this year showcased his collection ‘Abstraction’ at the Lakme Fashion Week, says that though his collection mainly consists of dresses and gowns, the creativity lies in using them for various occasions and for a variety of styles.

“The clothes have very light layers and are easy to travel. The layering makes the dresses suitable for Indian weather,” he says.

“As a departure from the riot of colours that I usually play with, the focus this time is more on a strong minimal bolder graphic colour palette. Black and white forms the foundation of the collection with red, silver, azure and purple adding an element of freshness,” he says.

His other collection ‘Toxic’ again consists of dresses but in brighter tones.

“The colours range from white and black for more sober events or evening times to strikingly beautiful dazzling colours, graphic organic patterns and glowing surfaces, which would work for day time,” he says.

He says one should pick up dresses that can be worn everywhere.

“The important thing here is that you can make them your own.You can wear these as tunics with leggings, an office dress or a cocktail outfit. Each woman can wear it in a manner that suits her and since the clothes are layered and the fabric is easy,” he says.
“The silhouette would suit woman of every shape. It would look different on women of different sizes,” he says.

An important thing to do is to mix your own personal style in it. You can team a light chiffon jacket with a dress or with leggings to suit your own style.

These pieces can easily blend together to create a new look. Since the important factor is wearability, both the collections can be worn everywhere. It is something that modern woman can wear to the office and go to a cocktail party after that.
