Low turnout on Day 1 of COMED-K counselling

Nearly 351 candidates selected seats in their preferred branches on day one of counselling conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental College of Karnataka.

As many as 141 engineering colleges and 10 architecture colleges are offering seats through the counselling. Non-Karnataka candidates depend on the counselling for admission in to the private engineering colleges in the State.

RV College of Engineering, PES Institute of Technology and M S Ramiah Institute of Technology were the most preferred colleges at the counselling centre. The first seat was allotted to Avinash Kumar, who opted for Electronics and Communications in RV College of Engineering. The highest number of takers were for branches like electronics as well as computer science.

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association have formed “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” (COMED-K) to conduct a test for admission in to their member institutes. Nearly 42,258 candidates appeared for the entrance test.

A team of principals from various colleges are present at the counselling venue to help students, said S Kumar, Executive Secretary of COMED-K.
