The villagers had laid a trap in the form of a noose to capture a wild boar which had been destroying crops for the last few days. However, a farmer found that a leopard has been trapped in the nose and informed the Gram Panchayat authorities. The information was passed on to Police and Forest Department officials.
A veterinary doctor from Pilikula tranquilised the big cat so as to free it from the noose. It was later shifted to Pilikula sanctuary. A large number of people gathered near the spot to have a glimpse at the ‘rare visitor’ to their village.
