Cong, JD(S) workers clash

Paramesh, who lost his hand, was shifted to a hospital in Bangalore and the two more injured were admitted to Nimhans in Bangalore. Irate Congress workers set fire to the five JD(S) workers’ houses. The clash broke out after JD(S) workers, Shankaregowda and B M Raghu, who is also former MLC K T Srikantegowda’s brother-in-law, allegedly picked up quarrel with Pujari Venkatesh (Cong) over the GP polls on Friday night. Situation worsened when Paramesh and Krishnamurthy (Cong), intervened and ‘abused’ Raghu. On Saturday when Raghu and Shankaregowda allegedly waylaid Paramesh and Krishnamurthy, in the fight that ensued, Shankaregowda allegedly chopped off Paramesh’s hand and assaulted Krishnamurthy.
