Pact inked to develop a stretch of SH 132

The Project Development Agreement (PDA) between the State Government and the developer, Hyderabad-based SEW Infrastructure was signed in Bangalore on Monday. The agreement was inked by PWD Executive Engineer B S Ingalalli on behalf of the State Government and SEW Infrastructure Director Anil Kumar in the presence of Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy, who is also the district in-charge minister of Bellary.

Reddy said foundation stone for the project will be laid in Bellary on August 20.
The development of the stretch assumes significance as the SH 132 is also the main access road to the proposed greenfield airport at Sanganakallu.

A total of 63 culverts, three major bridges, three minor bridges, three pedestrian and cattle underpass, one truck laybys and three bus bays will be built along the stretch identified for upgrading under the Karnataka State Highways Improvement Project.

The project will be completed in two years and the construction company will maintain the road till 2025.
