The team comprises five ENT doctors each from China and India. It will start a week-long visit to northern Hebei province Wednesday, where Dwarkanath Kotnis, an Indian doctor, served for eight years during the China-Japan war.

Kotnis, who came in 1938 to China as a member of an Indian medical aid team, is remembered in the country for his selflessness and untiring support to the Chinese people.
He died in 1942 in China at the age of 32.

The Chinese doctors will visit India in December. Both countries have set up their first joint medical team after Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited China in 2008.
