Shettar to inaugurate Soudha in Udupi today

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, MLA Raghupathy Bhat informed that Women and Child Welfare Minister P M Narendra Swamy will lay the foundation stone for ‘Sthreeshakthi Bhavan’ on the occasion. Home Minister Dr V S Acharya, Udupi-Chickmagalur MP D V Sadananda Gowda, ZP President Gladys Almeida, Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes, MLC Prathapchandra Shetty, DC Hemalatha will be the chief guests. The Samartya Saudha is coming up at a cost of Rs 62 lakh, he added.

The Government has released Rs 25 lakh for the construction works of Samartya Saudha and Rs 12 lakh under SGSY programme of Zilla Panchayath, he added.

The foundation laying ceremony for ‘Suvarna Grama Yojane’ at Tenkanediyur Gram Pancahayat will be performed by Shettar on the same day following which he will attend Gram Panchayath workers review meet. Later, he will inaugurate State-level Panchayat employees, PDO and Secretaries convention at Rajangana. Paryaya Shiroor mutt seer Sri Laxmivaratheertha Sripada will bless the occasion. Home Minister Dr V S Acharya, Port and Fisheries Minister Krishna J Palemar, Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar, Udupi-Chickamaglur MP D V Sadananda Gowda will be chief guests, he said. Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, Taluk Panchayat President Shyamala Kunder, Vice President Soumya Nayak, Standing Committee President Katpadi Shankar Poojary, EO Manjunathaih and others were present.
