Bhatkal, Sadiq help B'lore City take lead

Bangalore City, overnight 122/4 in reply to President’s modest 148, were all out after amassing 264 in 81.2 overs. Bhatkal, 48 at stumps on the opening day on Thursday, went on to compile 83 while Kirmani struck an equally crucial 78.

President’s XI were 197/2 in 47 overs when the two-day match was called off.Elsewhere, Combined City XI too ran away with the first innings honours aginst Bangalore Zone XI. Resuming at their previous night’s score of 158/3, in pursuit of Bangalore Zone’s 148 all out, Combined replied with 265 all out in 63.3 overs.

Bangalore Zone were 169/3 in 40 overs in their second essay when the match was called off.

Moffusil XI: 249 all out in 64.5 overs (Nitin Bhille 52, Md. Sarafaraz 67, Vikram Venkatesh 75 n.o.; Ronith More 4-67, Daniel Sequiera 2-37, Zeeshan Ali Sayyed 4-50) drew Combined Moffusil XI: 147/4 in 46 overs (Shishir Bhavani 31, Alok Desphande 53 n.o., Zeeshan Ali Sayyed 36 n.o.; HS Sharath 2-32, Parappa Mordi 2-40).
