The government has given priority to drinking water problems. The government is spending crores of rupees for drinking water projects across the State.<br /><br />A proposal will be sent to government on the drinking water projects at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore in Uppur Gram Panchayat area. The project will be useful for surrounding four villages. Neelavar project will provide drinking water to 10 villages. He said the Suvarna Gram Yojane comprises four phases covering as many as 3,000 villages. <br /><br />III Finance Recommendations implementation Task Force Committee A G Kodgi said there is a need for more administrative and financial powers to Taluk Panchayat.
