Ratan Tata regrets the company could not do Singur project

Tata Motors in October 2008 moved the small car plant to Sanand in Gujarat in the face of continuing agitation by Trinamool Congress demanding return of 400 acres acquired from farmers.

"We are dedicated to the cancer hospital that is coming up. It is hoped that it will start this year. West Bengal is very much a part of our total corporate identity," Tata said.The company is constructing a cancer hospital in Rajarhat in the northeastern fringes of the city.
