Alleging that there has been an increase in the number of accidents due to widening of the National Highway.

Traffic blocked

They blocked the traffic for over one hour. Walking on the road, particularly for students and senior citizens had become a hazard as vehicles are driven at high speed, they said blaming the National Highway Authorities and the contractors who executed the work for the accident.

Hundreds of students come to Marasanahalli on the National Highway to pursue their studies. However, neither a traffic signal nor an underpass has been provided despite heavy traffic density. It had become nightmare for the parents to send their wards to school, the villagers complained and demanded installation of signal lights to minimise road mishaps.

The protest was withdrawn as Police Sub-Inspector of Rural Police Station, Chandrappa, pacified by the villagers.
