The Kashmir Valley also witnessed a day of normalcy on Tuesday after days of protests and curfews, while a fresh phase of separatist-sponsored protest programme is starting on Wednesday.
The Amarnath pilgrimage culminated with the arrival and subsequent prayers of the mace of Lord Shiva at the holy cave. Mahant Deependra Giri, custodian of the holy mace, led the prayers. The mace remains at Akhara Building here throughout the year.
Over 4,56,000 pilgrims undertook the pilgrimage this time.
