<p>As per the decision taken at a meeting of the taskforce headed by Deputy Commissioner K Amaranarayana here on Thursday, iron ore can be transported only for industrial purposes and not for export. The ore will be transported based on the requirement and a team headed by the Karwar Sub-divisional officer will conduct periodic inspections to check on the usage of the ore.<br /><br />Following the ban on transport of iron ore imposed by the State, six iron industries from Goa submitted an appeal to the Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada. A team headed by the officials from the Mines and Geology department visited Goa to check the demand for ore.</p>
