Ravikumar of ILC Company, Venugopal of Swastik Steel and Javed Sheikh Katagi of Lakshmi Minerals were arrested by the CID police in Bangalore for their involvement in illegally exporting six lakh MT of ore worth Rs 250 crore.
Judge S B Dyavappa remanded them to judicial custody till Saturday and posted the hearing to September 8 and 9.
Speaking to Deccan Herald at the court premises, one of the suspects, Venugopal, said the CID police called him to their office for gathering information, but instead arrested him. He maintained that he had resigned from Swastik Steel Company a while ago and placed the blame on Forest department officials who were targeting employees instead of arresting the general manager and members of the board of management.
