ALLADISTA

Sniffle and suffer

Despite the solidity of a well-meaning story by Tamil Nadu CM Karunanidhi, “Alladista”, a frame to frame dubbed version of the Tamil flick “Pen Singam”, is simply crass and cacophonic presenting what in police parlance third degree torture is.

Though boasting of a socially thought-provoking theme centring around women, a sloppy script, incompetent narration and a tediously tiresome length negate the progressive premise of Karunanidhi’s plot.

Director Baali Srirangam’s Alladista speaks of how an IPS officer fights the villain to save her sincere forest officer lover from the murder charge foisted on him. Uday Kiran and Meera Jasmine pass muster. Sudharshana is her sensuous best.
