Left goes all out against PM to defeat nuclear Bill

CPM leader Sitaram Yechury alleged that the Civil Nuclear Liability Bill is being enacted to promote US interests. And the prime minister is showing a personal interest in the bill.

Left Leaders pointed out the inadequacy of the maximum compensation amount and CPI leader D Raja demanded that the amount should be fixed only after a recommendation by a high powered expert committee.

Participating in the debate on the bill in the Rajya Sabha, Yechury took a dig at the  prime minister that he ensured his presence and intervention when the Lok Sabha was debating the bill while he did not ensure the same for crucial debates on price rise and the Bhopal Gas tragedy.
